Weekend Auction Goodies

Jerri's Junque

Had to bid on this little guy, he looked so happy. He is alittle rusty and alot dusty ,but a cutie.

And this clear cut glass powder box, I believe I have a vintage pink puff, somewhere.

And last but not least, a vanity from the glamour days. Can't you just see her sitting at the vanity putting on her face, to go out on the town. Had to strip off the nasty material, going to wash it tomorrow and then it will be ready to sell. Oh, boy just got a e-mail, another auction on Friday night. Wonder what I will find?????

Friday Challenge
in Honor of
1 year of Blogging.
Nada Es Imposible
Across the street from the shop is a building that is being used for a Hispanic church. There are scriptures on a sign, but Spanish class was along time ago. And to tell you the truth, I did not think at the time I would ever need to speck or read Spanish. Boy, was i wrong. But I think I know what this one is - anything is possible. So once again I start a Friday challenge. Your title is: Nada Es Imposible or Anything Is Possible. It was possible for "ME" to maintain a blog.

I can't believe you have a life other than your blog. Get with it ladies and write something. I need it!!!! I need to know something, tell me something, show me what you created this weekend, what you did with the family, a poem or cute little story ,will do this morning. My dear dear friends......
Please say a special prayer for me, that I don't ring my DD neck. To think, at one time I wanted more children. Now I am not sure I want the one I have. All joking a side. Keep us in your prayers.

My lastest layout

Thursday, September 07, 2006

Took my Camera to the shop today, just a few new snap shots .
Love the old black and white pics.
More tomorrow.

My dear sweet Hubby has a sweet tooth.

And when the wind starts to blow and the nights get cooler, his sweet tooth rears it's ugly head.

There will be candy in the house the rest of the year. These Peanut butter kisses, candy corn, Smarties, chocolate covered cherries, chocolate covered marshmallow anything. When our local Wal-mart has a holiday candy section , that is where he can be found. He is a child at heart, when it comes to his candy. So bring on the candy season. Fall is in the air, and the smell of Holiday candy.

How did you spend your Labor Day?
Items go into our basement and tend to not go out until we have a clean up day. So on Labor Day we, cleaned, purged, and said "Goodbye" to items that we had not seen since last clean up day. We had 4 piles- Dump and Charity and take to the store and the one month pile. Both dump and Charity were a truck load. The one month pile has to be used, fixed or given away or it goes away after 1 month. This is something new and I will let you know how this works. I feel like we needed to be new show on HGTV. I guess I watch too much of these shows. It is funny when we moved into this house, I thought our stuff looked so small in this big house. Now our house doesn't look so big. We just have alot of stuff. We want to enclose a part of our basement for a "MAN CAVE" for my sweet hubby. Pool table, big screen and all. So for labor day, the last holiday of the summer, we cleaned.

Did you Check out the Birmingham News today? Well, I am in there. (page 6 -A) A reporter stopped by the shop last week and ask me a few questions about current events. My comment that was used was, " I only fill my car to 3/4 full, I might find it cheaper tomorrow. Well, I had actually just started this because I filled my car up a week ago, went in to get a drink and over heard the owner ask a employee to change the gas prices. I thought to my self, good thing I got it before they marked it up. On the way home the same day I saw it had dropped eight cents a gallon.

Went to Estate sale this morning. It was advertised to start at 8 a.m. Owner did not get there till 8:20 and had less than 10 items in the house to sell. I was very upset. Terry had gone next door to a barn sale and didn't come back. So after awhile I went into the barn he had bought a Vanity type dresser that was very pretty and in great shape. And a box of Tiara glass. It was in gold and all boxed up before I got into the barn. So when we got to the shop and started to unpack, we had - decanter set- 5 dinner plates- 8 snack set with cups, 4 juice glasses 5 tea glasses, sherbet bowls, finger bowls, relish bowl, small basket, sugar and creamer, napkin holder, child's set, nursery rhyme dishes, 2 tier dish, and about 6 or 8 odd pieces. I think I will let him go to the barn sale next time too. Good Job Honey! The only bad thing is, I have a collection of the green. So I will sell the gold.
What was a not so good Saturday turned out to be okay.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ NOT!!!!!
Up at 5 am, wide eyed, could not go back to sleep, it is a Saturday for crying out loud. Why do I wake up soooo early? I am sure my doctor would say, "Well, at your age". This seems to be the standard reply when I ask questions about things that is happen with my body. So what kind of response is that? I will tell you, it is a response from a male doctor. hummm sounds like I am going to be a little hard to live with today. Maybe I should have gotten more sleep. duh...
On a different note* went to a antique mall yesterday. I got a foot board for a antique bed, going to make a bench out of it. Pictures to follow soon. Since I am up, I think I will go to a estate sale this morning. I will let you know what I get.

Crop Update
Well, as you know I had contacted 20 scrapbooking companies to donate goodies to our crop. At this time I have had 3 thank you for the opportunity but we can not. As soon as I had a "NO" I opened up my newest magazine and sent another. My first "NO" was Junkitz, # 13 on my list, my third "no" was # 13 Bo Bunny. So I will not be adding a # 13 again. Well, Jeanette and I are waiting to see who our NEW favorite Scrapbook Company is: Who will it be???? Who cares about children that has been caught in a house fire or was born with problems that only the Shriners hospital can help. Stay Tuned.............

I love snapdragons, and the lime green carnation looking flowers. The color of the two has inspired a scrapbooking page. Funny where you find your color combinations. Where do you find yours?

Thrift Store Finds
Off yesterday, so I went to the thrift store. Not alot to find. If you are a junkie like me you have seen that they are pricing their self out of alot of sales. Alot of things are high now. Chipped items, if a collectible are still full price. I got a sea shell box for me, grandson #1 a Halloween mask, the flash cards, and the food cards, I am not sure what they came from but I know I have seen them before. I will add them to Jerri Junque table at the shop. All in all it was a good day. I was home by one. Back to work today, with new goodies to price.

Sorry for the double post almost alike. Blog spot was a little crazy yesterday. Thought i had lost the first post. So I tried to re-do and when I went to download it found both of then.

Sunday, August 27, 2006

I contacted 20 scrapbooking companies asking for donation for the Retreat in October, this morning. And we will see if they send anything. I am getting nervous about it. It is my idea, my baby. I just hope I can fill up all the spaces. If you could hear a testimonial from a child that has been treated at the hospital, you would sign up today. I always enjoy hearing their story. It always brings chills up and down, and the tears flow too. I went to our meeting today, the hospital had ask for a camera and printer for scrapbooking last month. I had planned on putting out a jar, at the crop for donation. I was told today, one of our ladies had come forward with $ to buy the camera and printer. These are the women I am proud to say are my friends. We work hard all year, every year. In our own "Daughters of the Nile" and helping our husbands in the Shriners fund raising, to see that these children get everything they need. Want you help too ?
*On a side note- a friend came by the shop yesterday. We talked , we laughed, we talked some more. Thanks, Jenn - I needed some girl talk.
I contacted 20 different scrapbook companies this morning by e-mail , requesting donations for the October Crop/ Retreat. I hope a few will donate. I am getting excited, and a little scared too. This was my idea, my baby. And I hope I can fill up the house. I feel strongly about a lot of things , scrapbooking is my passion and helping these children is my honor. If you could just hear a testimonial from one of these children. I sit an listen and chill bumps run up and down my body. They go through so much, burns, limbs that do not work , poor little bodies that endure pain like most of us could not bare. How on gods green earth can anyone not feel joy in helping them.
on a different note : Had a wonderful surprise yesterday. A good friend ( Jenn) came by the shop and we had the nicest visit. We talked for hours, I needed some girl talk.

Either you get it or you don't
SCRAPBOOKING, I mean. If you are a scrapbooker then you know the thrill of new paper being released, Completing a album, or the minute you snap the picture, knowing what you layout will be. But if you are not a scrapbooker, and they hear you say the word "crop". They think you have come up with a new language. And we have, the scrapbookers language. I wish everyone could experience the thrill of completing a two page layout. But for now we, as scrapbookers will have to spread the word, share the layouts and shout from the roof tops that We are woman ! Let me tell you about my lastest scrapbook find! It is left up to us ladies. Start spreading the word.

Another long day, yesterday. leaving home by 9 and arriving back home at 10 or so. Had 3 in a row last week, got three this week but spread out. Not sleeping well either. I sleep sound till about one or so, then I toss the rest of the night. Weird dreams till I get out of bed.
Sorry can't remember details now, but it had something to do with scrapbooking paper. I dream every night, hubby says if he does, he does not remember. I thought everyone dreamed. I get some of my best ideas while I am sleeping. No wonder I have to say " I think it is about time for flowers". No idea.

Oh, this is my Friday Challenge of " a day in the life " . I took paper to the shop on Friday after posting. And worked on it a bit. I tore out of magazines the corner of page 24, a bingo card with the #24 highlighted, #24 on a crossword puzzle, I tore out of the yellow pages a company that is open 24 hours a day, and a #24 bingo piece. Twenty Four Hours in a day, sometimes doesn't seem to be enough. A lot of doodling, and just left it on the desk until I could get back to it and add what I had done. Again no pictures, just a day in my life.

Well, I worked this morning trying to make a header for my "Jerri's Junque" blog. And guess what? I am so computer challenged that I can't figure out how to do it. So here it is. Hope you enjoy it.
Sidebar....................................
The phone just rang, and it was a lady passing through Cleveland. She saw something outside and wanted to purchase it.
Maybe I need to put a sign on the door that reads:
If we aint here just slid the money under the door.
I am already good for Thursday, we have made a sale everyday we have been open. Apparently, some days before we open.....

As a child my daddy would say on Sunday night "Back to the salt mines tomorrow". I don't know why I thought of this but many years ago I had this vision in my mind. Daddy being trucked deep into a dark, cold mine, to a salt mine. I was so glad to see him coming home. When Mother would say it is almost time for your Daddy, I would get my chair and wait by the fence, for him to come home. Mother would always bath and change our clothes for daddy to come home. Then after dinner we would go into the fenced in front yard and along with all the neighborhood children and play kick ball. Oh, childhood memories, I wish I had pictures of this. And by the way Daddy never worked in the salt mines, not in the mines at all. He worked at A.R.A, which was a vending company. One day he opened up his van type truck and let all the neighborhood children get a piece of candy. And believe me he started something. At least once a week we got a piece of candy.

Yeah!!!! I have arrived! I have been added to someone's blog as a " blogs i read" . But I am such a computer dummy that I don't know how to do this. So I will have to tell you who I look at each and every morning. To tell you the truth I am hooked, I must confess. I love the blogs, i have 35 on my favorites. But I will only list my top 10 : Ali Edwards is my favorite, i have enjoyed her adventure in her travels. Jennie Bowlin and Teresa McFayden love their style, and Elsie Flannigan she is just so young and free, and Pam Garrison funky, altered artist, and The Brocante Home Chronicles , she just has a 50's site, and Renee Haglar an Alabama girl re-located to Atlanta, and Shabby Princess, not her site but her list of "blogs i read" , and Hedi have to check up on baby updates, and Freestyle the Blog cause this is my style. These are my top 10 blogs. How many do you check out and how often?

I am off today to go to a cropping birthday party for two of the most sweetest, friends I have.
Scrapbooking has not only preserved my precious photos for the future generation, it has also rewarded me with great friends. These two women will do anything and has helped me in ways they will never know. They wanted to share their birthday with friends and ask at Michaels to see if they could use the classroom. They have children crafty/birthday parties all the time. And so they may have started something. Classroom space/cropping space. Looking so forward to this fun time with good friends and cake too.

Friday Challenge
I believe this is our 20th Friday challenge. Have you done all 20? I must confess I have not done but about half, myself. School started here yesterday and with it will soon be a new season. Showing my age here: when I was in school it was considered fall when we started the first day of school. Not any more it was hot yesterday until we had a storm in the afternoon, but that did not help the children. Anyway, on with the challenge. This one will take a year to complete. Pick a spot in your yard , take a picture in every season. I picked a tree, with a story about my husband wanting to cut this tree down. It turned out being a good page. So today's challenge is the 4 seasons.

Last photo of Jerri's Junque found on the 450 mile yard sale. I have been collecting dishes that have age cracks/color, for some time now. The man I bought this from said this happens because there was clay in the dish. And it deteriorates with time. Oh, honey don't we all. Anyway I love it and it won't be going to the store now. I also got some old photo, love old black and whites. I did take some to the shop. I have been working hard trying to get ready for a new adventure at the shop. Something I am adding. Check back later for details.

Tuesday, August 08, 2006

Okay, here they are. I am still having a problem seeing out of them. I can tell the difference when I am driving. In picture I have the sun glass clip on, with all the bling bling. And they are RED.

It's my signature color......

Monday, August 07, 2006

Well, I am out the door to pick up my glasses. Yes, I bit the bullet and went for an eye exam. And on the bill , the box marked was # AGE RELATED # so how old do I feel today. Photo to follow with specks, you young wipper snapper. If I can figure how to work these new fangle contraption.

guess what color I got?

Only 111 days until Christmas !

450 mile yard sale deals

Can you believe it, so I bought vintage ornaments to make another wreath. Still need more but there is a little time.

Friday, August 04, 2006

It is Friday

Just got back from the 450 mile yard sale. And I was really disappointed this year. I spent more $ at the scrapbook stores in an around Chattanooga. This is a little photo of my scrapbooking goodies. And in the next few days I will share pictures of my Antique goodies. But on to more important things. The Friday challenge.

I know we have all done a page about your favorite color but what about the color of your car, scrapbook space, favorite room in your house, house, all your shoes, purses, or furniture. Is it bright or neutral.

Thursday, August 03, 2006

Heading out this morning on the 450 mile yard sale. Will be back tomorrow night, with new goodies. Photos to follow......

Wednesday, August 02, 2006

With the busy summer season, have you felt peace? We are always so busy that a 5 minute dip in the pool, by your self, seems to be peace. Even a glass of sweet tea, ( I don't drink sweet tea any more) and complete quite, is peaceful. At this time I am even multi tasking, pushing down cereal so I can take a pill, writing on my blog and making a to do list. So slow down this week , if only for a quick glass of tea.

Tuesday, August 01, 2006

I finished a page, really a 2 page layout. I needed to add 15 pictures and had to think about this one. The walls at Scrap Mania are this "HOT" new green. But it also made everyone look green. " It's not easy being green"
So I had to trim and crop all the pictures so you would not focus on the green walls. How did I do, gals? It has that Funky look I have grown to love. As you well know.
Well, it is off to the salt mines today, ( as my daddy always said) Which means I go back to work today. I have alot to do today since I did not do anything yesterday. I have earns to run and an appointment to get my hair cut before I open the shop. Till tomorrow

Warning: Rambling Post
Well, my weekend was uneventful. Worked on Saturday, afternoon nap, through a storm, hubby home, cooked dinner, went to bed. Sunday watched movie, finished class pages, washed clothes, grilled , grandson #1 over for a visit, just stayed home. I have enjoyed catching up on all the many blogs I read, about CHA. There is a lot of things I am looking forward in collecting. This seems to be the norm lately. I have a box and basket full of goodies, I have collected. Don't seem to have any inspiration to work. Went to crop on Friday night, completed nothing. Worked on 4 pages but did not complete any of them. Have class tonight , page is complete. Have an appointment with eye doctor today too. Head aches have been really bad the last two weeks. More and more, almost everyday I wake up hurting. But ( in a Arnold's Kindergarten cop voice) it is not a tumor! Hubby didn't laugh either.
The storm I napped through on Saturday produced some strong winds, that blew down two trees in my yard. They were both wild crab apple trees, and no big lose. But a pain to clean up, hope hubby does it while I am at class tonight.

Friday Challenge
7-21-06
This Friday I want to create a page with "MY LIST". I know you have seen other people the 100 things I want to see and do in my life. Well, I want to keep it small and do a mini list. Maybe top 5.... Places I want to go.....5 scrapbooking things I like or 5 what I like right now. You now how we change our mind and this list will need to be up dated at least every year. So get out a piece of card stock, scribble a little and add the top 5 anything.

Wednesday, July 19, 2006

Oh, for the next few days I am going to be really busy. Up this morning at 5 to bake a breakfast casserole for a meeting at 8 a . m. At my shop. So I was dusting ,cleaning, vacuuming and re-doing all day yesterday. Just had a minute between batches of monkey bits. And I wanted to give you the recipe.

2 cans biscuits

1 cup chopped nuts

1/2 cup brown and 1/2 cup regular sugar

zest from one orange

1 stick of melted butter

1 package of cream cheese cut into 20 pieces

Mix sugars , zest and nuts together. Take a biscuit and with your hand spread it to twice its size, put in a piece of cream cheese. Fold it over and crimp the edges. ( don't want the cheese to come out in baking) roll in melted butter and then into sugar mixture. Bake at 350 until done.

Oh, how I love my pool!!! You can pass by most houses and see that the pool was for the children. But "NO" this pool is mine ....all mine. And if I could afford it I would have a bigger one. I have it all planned out when Terry wins the lottery, I get a bigger pool. I love the water and the sun and I love being in the pool. Just laying on the float and watching the clouds is heaven to me. Now if I could just figure out how I can scrapbook while being in the pool, it would be even better. But I could stay out there all day , but not this year , now I have to be at the shop. Why?? did I open this place, I wasn't thinking about my summers in the pool. I think about it all day and then when I get home I have sooo much to do that I don't get in. I am going to make a effort to get in a few evening this week. Because I feel so relaxed and good afterward.
Although today is my off day, I went to the shop and worked about 3 hours. I had gotten a few goodies and I needed to rearrange. Went to a Auction on Saturday and got a huge piece of furniture and had to place it in a already crowded area. Now it is all done. Things look good so now tomorrow all I have to do is vacuum and dust. Got all the antique dealers coming to my shop on Wednesday morning for our monthly meeting. It is many's first time to be in the shop, so I want it to look good. Now all I have to do is plan a menu for eight a.m. meeting. I have a new twist on monkey bread I am going to try tonight , if it is good I will pass on the recipe.

Vacation Review
Well, it was a great trip but I am worn out. My hubby thinks, vacation is a time to go, go , go, go and do things. We would leave the room by 9 and not come back until 9 or so. There was no leisure time. He wanted to be on the go all the time. Even when we went to the beach, he wanted to walk, I wanted to sit and watch the ocean. We took a sight seeing tour, which was great and informative. And explained how to get around. Parking was a nightmare, food was good, hot and muggy, smelled after a rain, and I did not get to see Paula Dean. But we ate at the Lady and Son's. Good southern cooking. Ate a Yummy sweet potato dessert.
I enjoyed the Shrimp Factory, had stuffed shrimp. Yummy! No room for Dessert. But got pecan parlines for later. Hubby was great, found the only 2 scrapbooking stores in Savannah. Got new stuff. Yeah! Went junkin' and got new stuff.
Got idea for future scrapbooking class. (Hint) I loved looking at the details of all the wonderful houses. ( look up)
Now I am looking forward to my fall vacation, to the beach.

Monday, July 10, 2006

Well, it is official. I am on vacation.

clothes are washed, ironed, packed, dishwasher ran, floors sweeped and mopped, house descent, bed made, got camera, mail stopped, mom will feed stray cat that won't leave, car packed, still need to get coffee pot ( hubby won't drink hotel coffee), took care of pool, watered tomatoes, mail bills, Leslie I will pick you up something in Savannah, last check of the store, it is taken care of, kissed grandsons, gave daughter a emergency check, got map, got new freestyle book to take with me, hubby in shower, I know there is something else........Maybe it is saying Have a great Week yall !

Saturday, July 08, 2006

Good Morning Sunshine! Yep it is early. I was wide awake a 5 a.m It seems that as of late I am a early bird. I am not sure how I feel about this since my hubby is a night person. By 10 p.m I am ready to slow down, put on my gown, and curl into my bed. I always set the timer on the Tellie, but I never see over 15 minutes . Hubby on the other hand can stay up all night and sleep till 10 on the weekends, that is if I let him. There is always amillion and one things that "NEED" to be done. This morning I am off to a Estate sale first thing, work till 2 and then auction tonight. I need to pick up a few pieces of nice furniture. When I opened the shop, it was 75% of my stuff. But now I don't have time to go buy anything. So I have just alittle bit. I need need need more stuff. And I have had to start a list of people wanting a booth. There is none available. We are packed to the rim. I love it. Not getting alot of scrapping done the last few weeks but there will be time. I have brought one of my scrapbooks to the shop and put a note on it saying " if you are interested in creating a scrapbook like this one , classes will start in August. Yes, I have decided to have a few classes. I have had 4 people ask and leave their address, in about a week. Not too bad. I have already created a 1 page for my first class. It will be the last of August but I am excited already. And if this does not go well, I will buy more stuff..... We all need more stuff!

Friday Challenge

Friday Challenge- June 30th
Today I want to create a page showing what is "outside my scrap window".
What are you looking at? If this tomato plant had been outside my window maybe I could have gotten that little worm off before it ate the whole thing. So it ate 1/4 of my crop. Why didn't he eat the weeds that is trying to creep in on that plant. Oh, well I guess I don't have to weed it now. Guess I will buy tomatoes for a little while longer. Oh yeah, back to the challenge. I want to show what I look at, maybe inspire times. What is outside your window??????

Long time ...no post. I have been busy trying to get ready for the 4th and then vacation. I feel like I am in slow motion, just going through the motions but just thinking of the end result. Vacation is only 11 days away. 4th party only 3 days away. So much to do ....not enough time. And Hubby has been working all week and plans on fishing in a tournament on Friday night. Sometimes I could ring his neck, I have gave hints that, I could use him at home on Friday night but does he get them NO... So I will leave him a long list to do on Saturday while I am working. I hope they are done, if he wants to enjoy his night.......
DEEP BREATH...... CALM DOWN...........
Sometime I just need to write it down and all the anger goes away.

Friday challenge
guess who????? Yeah it is me, alongggggg time ago. The reason for this picture is for today's challenge. I want you to draw a self portrait. Get in a quite room and draw a picture of your self. Fill in all the things you like about yourself and the things you don't. Doodle and add childhood memories about your self. I think this will be fun, and then years from now, when your great great grand daughter is reading this she will know where she got her nose and she will know how I did not like it either.
Oh, the memories of polyester.....I still have nightmares.
They were sooo hot !!!

It seems like today I did not get anything accomplished. I tried all day to finish my weekly paper work, rearrange the space where a cabinet sold, start a scrapbook page, rearrange a table full of glass and eat lunch. At 3, I had a apple, ( it won't kill me to miss a meal. I have stored fat for times just like this) Paper work done at 4 , the table, empty space and scrapbook page will have to wait for another day. Then I got home and burnt the hamburger helper. Hoping for a better day tomorrow.

DaD
This is a hand of man that has worked hard all his life to provide for his family. Do the right thing, and respect people. Don't wine, suck it up and do what you have to do. Don't let people walk all over you, but know when to speak up. Manners are important, Respect your elders. Take the time to listen to the older generation, they do have something to say. Always open the door for a lady, and give them your seat. Family eat at the table, together. Shake hand to all you meet. Be polite. Family- we do what we have to do, because we are family. It is the right thing to do.
Happy Fathers Day
I love you

Friday Challenge
Is there anything in our lives that is a * constant * source of inspiration? My constant " creative" source right now is the internet. I see a idea, and twick it to my taste. I scrap lift. Do you? I do not think it is wrong, I do it all the time, but when I finish you can not tell it was lifted. It has my style on it. Which is rusty , shabby, rustic, old, inked, antique looking. And it is a great source when you have no creativity . All you have to do is try and it will come rushing back. Well, I am getting off the subject. Today's challenge is to inform about the most "constant" feeling, source, friend, person or item in your life. The Friday challenge word today is constant.

This is the beginning of a new day. You have been given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or use it for good. What you do today is important because you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its place is something that you have left behind... let it be something good.

Good Morning
I really have been on a roll with my layouts lately. I try to pull 2 photos and paper each morning to take to the shop with me. I completed 4 pages last week. Yes, it took all week but that is more than I have been completing. It is good, to fill the slow times and I can leave it on the desk , if it takes a few days to complete. I also stayed late at the shop on Friday and worked on a mini vacation book. Got the basics done. Now I just need to wait. I am planning to add our little Anniversary trip, Savannah vacation and a trip to the beach in the fall.
Happy Day!

Two entry in one day, I am on a roll today. Getting a lot done on my day off. Wanted to let you in on what I picked up over the weekend. Just a little of jerri's junque. Was excited to find 3 more blue ball jars( #0 #3 and 14) Trying to get a set. Only need a few more. Green oatmeal glasses are mine, I have a small collection. I guess I was into rusty tins and bottles this trip. Two items I am trying to make myself take to the store: The small cracked, discolored cream pitcher and the Kenmore Sewing scrap book. Now you will have to come by the shop to see if it made the cut.

Oh what a "Relaxing Weekend". We went north, sightseeing, antique /junk shopping, and enjoying each others company. Married 24 years on Sunday, we went to the park that we were married, and took a few pictures. Oh, how I love having time alone with hubby.
Picture is my front porch, I like sitting here early each morning. For quite time. Do you have a quite place?

With this Challenge we have completed 10 pages. 1/2 through a album on " ME", my thoughts, "ME" , my views, "ME" but with a new twist.

Vacation up date-
we are going to Savannah Ga.

Welcome
Great find, this sign was on its way to the dump. And I rescued it. Love the way it has looked on my front porch , welcoming people at the door. The little red fire truck was mine as a child. One of my rusty loves.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I love anything that has a little age to it. You know what I mean, rust makes me happy. I will buy old kitchen cabinets with the paint peeling and the door hanging off the hinges. I will put the door back on and wipe at the chipping paint and ooolala I am a happy girl. Or does your heart feel happy when you see a old couple holding hand, again a little age. And last but not least, there is a ad in a magazines that is advertising ( I think) face cream. The little woman has so many wrinkles, but she is so beautiful. Again age. So for our Friday challenge, I want to see something with age. I know where I am going on this one.

Fridays Challenge
Today I want you to create a page telling us about your favorite flower. You have to understand I love all flowers and at this time I would love to have a bouquet of beautiful sunflower. So go out and pick or buy yourself a bunch of flowers, you "NEED" them and deserve them. It will only be a few dollars. Put them in your scraping space and enjoy. Create a page with or with out a picture. Have a wonderful Friday!

What inspires you? What jars your creative juices flowing? As many of you know when I need to create sometimes nothing will help me be creative and if I try to force it, well then it is a disaster. I end up not using what I force. So my new way to become inspired is "Blogs". I like to check out all the blogs , see what others are creating and then what I come up with seems to be justified. I sometimes like the simple page with minimal embellishment, it really depends on the picture. But most of the time I love to add and add some more embellishments. Load that page down so it tells the story and I don't have to Journal. I am trying to force alittle more comments on my pages but if I work it right all I have to do is add embellishments. Have a good Thursday Friends!!

Where would you like to go on Vacation?
Happy Tuesday! This is first day of my work week , I am coming off my weekend. The shop is closed on Sunday and Mondays. So I do not want to get up and get going this morning. There is not alot I will need to do when I get there but, I still have to be there. I have a new booth moving in today and I am looking forward to seeing her treasures.
Well, as Vacation time approaches, we are at a dilemma on where we want to go. Last year , we went to Atlanta for a one day trip. So not much of a vacation, actually it has been two years since we had a real vacation. I want to go away for a month but Hubby says I can only have 9 days.

So where would you go? I love the beach but "Hubby" will go but prefers the Mountains. We have so done that. But seeing the ocean is different. Always changing and I love the smell, sound and feel of the beach. I would live there if it was possible. I would love to have the ocean as a view from my studio. And if I wanted to go out for a stroll on the beach or if I needed shells for a project, they would be there. All at my finger tips. Back to reality.....

Anyway, I am trying to come up with somewhere else that we both could enjoy. Any Suggestions? It seems so foolish to go on a road trip with gas as high as it is but I think we deserve a get away. We both have worked hard this year and need this. And I need new vacation picture to scrap. Have a nice day.

Friday Challenge

Interview- ask someone questions and write it down. My version is Malik at 8. I found out the was afraid of heights, car wrecks and spiders.

He wants to visit Japan, and he is most proud of the military fighting to protect the whole world, he wants to be a undercover policeman and he is worried about dying. On a good note he told me he had a girlfriend and she has long hair. You won't know until you ask. Interview your husband and see if you are on the same planet. I learned alot about hubby. Surprising things too. Try it. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I love coming up with a new purpose for old items. I have had this for years. And was afraid of putting it out in the store, afraid a child would stab his sibling. So it was on my desk,

Bang, it came to me. What do you think?
