Vendor Spotlight
These pictures come from Linda's booth.
As many, Linda started out with renting a bookcase.
They rent for about $10.00 a month and anyone can come up with enough goodies to fill one.
Then she got bit by this wonderful bug.
Call junkin.
Now Linda has a big booth and also carries fabric.
Our Walmart as well as many others have discontinued the fabric department.
( big mistake)
Pardon this post for a brief announcement-
Walmart swoops into these small towns and we are so happy to have a huge one stop shopping center until all the small businesses close because they are run out by Walmart.
We no longer have a fabric store in Oneonta. So thank you Walmart for taking that away.
Climbing off my soap box.
Now we will continue this post
We have a small section of fabric in beautiful colors.
I bought these to make a quilt, I don't quilt but they were so darn pretty together.
Anyway, Linda had been with me for many years and is now a close friend. She has her own taste in goodies as we all do.

So come on in and see what she has in store for you.
She also creates one of a kind items, she is a very talented crafter.
Most of her items are made in the USA.
And she is proud of it.
We should all be.
Alittle step onto that soap box again.
So join me again next week for another
Vendor Spotlight.

Vendor Spotlight
"Barbara June"

Barbara started out with me 4 years ago when I opened the shop. One of only a few. She also has one f the largest booths in the shop. She is a JUNKER from way back. She enjoys going to Thrift stores and Antique shops to find the unusual. She creates and re-purposes items to grab your attention.

Do you see what the mirror is sitting on?
It is a holder for your hose pipe.
It make a wonderful easel.

Don't you just love these cross stitch roses?
So bold and bright.

Barbara is a very talented decorator.
And my crime and partner when it comes decorating the different sections of the store.
We find a look we like and try and re-create it.
It is alot of fun. So remember to enlarge the pictures to see all her goodies .

Busy With Life

Sometimes life just gets in the way.

Be Back Soon

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

Back to work today.

And I am ready.

So I have had alot of time to think and look at blogs. And I will be borrowing this idea, ( from another blog) to highlight or showcase each vendor at the shop. So Today I will hold a photo shoot. And tomorrow I will post the first of about 15 vendors. I am so proud of each one of them, most decorate their booth and give it a special look. Each has a different personality and style. So it is so much fun to see what they will bring in each week or so.

I love the Sunshine! But the last 3 days I could have cared less what it was doing outside. I had high expectations about being back at work on day 3 after my surgery. HA! double HA! It was impossible. I do feel like a human today and have showered and dried my hair, but I am still not ready to go back to the shop. But to anyone that is thinking about the lap band, it is not easy. Clear liquid are Okay for a day maybe 2, but by day 2 I was dreaming of a hamburger Pattie, I realize I may never be able to have a hamburger Pattie again. So the second night I dreamed of softer foods, like soft creamed potatoes. I am on day 4 and I just had Yogurt, it was smooth and had taste and it was by far the best yogurt I had ever had. It will be March 23 before I am allowed to eat soft food. My stomach has to heal. I haven't felt hungry but I just needed more of a variety. So as you may have noticed there is a weight loss ticker on the side and by my home scales I have lost quite a bit. I will not up date it until I go to the doctor in Tuesday to get out my staples. Have a good weekend, and thank you for all the well wishes.

Before I get started on the post
I want to give a ***Shout Out****
to Miss Barbara.
Thanks so much for thinking of me today
and calling to check on me.
I love you and treasure your friendship.

Now, what do you think about my Hatchling,
Linda gave it to me yesterday, New beginnings.
Thank you my friend, she will fit right in my room.
As you may know I will have lap band surgery tomorrow.
I got the call about an hour ago to be there at 8,
which means I won't be the first one.
My new beginning. I am ready!

This is grandson #1 and his new hair cut.
He waited for me to spot it.
His nickname- MO MO
I believe he got his way, James.
And James (Son in law kinda sorta) says
I spoil the boys. I am waiting to see if he
got in trouble at school.
And the last picture is of some wonderful
bread a customer brought to me.
Thank you for thinking of me.
I won't be eating bread from now
on so homemade bread was perfect.

So I am in PARTY HEAVEN!
This year I have a birthday party to plan,
I will help in the planning of 2 weddings,
a baby shower and a bridal shower.
So instead of looking at junkin blogs,
I am looking over party blogs.
We have a color and a date on my brothers wedding.
9-11-10
yellow and white.
I have a color on the 50th birthday party,
orange and brown.
So I am looking at blogs.
I have always enjoyed the party
planning part and not so much the rest.

Don't you love the yellow cake.
And the umbrella's are so cute for the bridal shower. This is going to be fun. But seems all the events are in the fall, so I have a few months to hunt and gather. Stay tuned.

I heard yesterday, that there was a
Estate Sale in our neighborhood
this weekend.
Doesn't take much to excite me......
We start Wednesday night practicing
a Easter Program.
I hope we are ready for this...

I go weak in my knees when I see something like this at
an Estate Sale.
I hope I see it on Friday.

I have a friend coming by to check out my computer tonight.
Keep you finger crossed.

A few things I like
I am a JUNKER
I love, more than most to hunt for the JUNK.
Although it is getting harder and harder to find a treasure.
I made a wreath with sheet music 2 Christmas's ago,
but this is great.

I have this thing for baby shoes.
Oh, and to find red shoes.
My color .
