Welcome to Positive Day
Please check out the other entries on this blog
As the story goes Jenn diva daughter was upset at a article she read about the newest Harry Potter Movie. And she thought having a positive day when she became president would encourage positive thinking.
I think this is a really good idea.
I could be bunned that it is raining this morning, but instead, I have enjoyed listening to the rain. It is all in the way you look at things.
I could be bunned that I have 1/2 bushel of green beans to put up tonight, but at least I have green beans to put up for my family to eat this winter.
It is all in the way I look at it.
I am a simple girl and I believe I grow more simple every year.
I try to find the good in people, I try to be nice to customers, even though they are not nice to me.
It is all in the way you look at it.
My dentist has a receptionist that I have had problems with in the past. This week, I was not looking forward in having to deal with her negative attitude.
I said a little prayer and went in.
She was overly friendly, talkative and it was a positive experience.
It is all in the way you look at it.
I am going to try and keep this positive attitude all day.
How about you?
It is all in the way you look at it.

I was wide awake at 6 this morning.

rolled over grabbed the remote and found this movie.
Same time Next Year.
I don't know why but I have enjoyed this movie more times than I like to admit.
Do you have a movie that pulls you in every time it is on?
I am a romantic, I love tear jerking books, movies and good stories.
I shake and cry every time. But it is a good cry, one that makes you feel melancholy.
And thankful for what you have.
So today I will be in a melancholy mood.
Happy Friday Yall!

I have been thinking about Positive Day and here is a few thing I positive about.I am positive I will never look like Miss full Lips .
I am positive I will never live in a cottage in Ireland,
but I sure would like to visit.

I am sure hubby would not like this beautiful country porch.
Oh, who am I kidding, he would not even say a word.
I am positive that I will be glad when all this VBS is over.
I like to see them come but I really like to see them go!

It is 5 a.m and I am wide awake.
What is wrong with me?
I could start a load of laundry,
I could run to Wal-mart, and get a few things,

I could do a number of things but instead I sit here blogging.
It is the devils work.....
I am trying to stay focused this week.
This week is Vacation Bible School.
I need to keep tunnel vision.
But I keep thinking about the Retreat I am hosting for the Shriners in September, the few days hubby and I will be on the Worlds Longest Yard Sale, the quilt I want to make after learning the technique we used on the Christmas bags on Saturday, there is a section at the shop that needs to be re-vamped.
NO NO KEEP THE VISION.
So if you live near, come to our VBS

Yesterday I took a Christmas in July sewing class.
We had the best time!We made the garland!
And then the Christmas card.
Wonder who will be good enough to get one of my cards this year.
I assure you not everyone will get one of these.
I can't just see them in the trash after the season is over.
Too much work went into these babies.
And then we used the same technique to make a gift bag.
Can you believe how cute they are.
The bag it's self is the gift.
I hate I didn't take my camera.
It was a small class but we had a great time.
Linda is a great instructor.
Maybe we need to have another class before Christmas.
What you think, Linda?
So I guess this means, I have started my Christmas creating.

With the way our economy has been this year, I have missed some of the magazines that has gone out of business. Not only in decorating but scrapbooking too. I have seen many last issues and I am excited about a new one starting in the fall. I love this type of magazine. They take outdoor sprinklers and it becomes...... This!
I love to Recycle and Re-use.
I have done this for years.
Not because I am GREEN.
Because I am Thrifty, in other words
Cheap!
I am counting down the day until the
WORLD"S LONGEST YARD SALE.
In 20 days Hubby and I will be traveling to get great bargains.
Things that we haven't seen in Alabama.
The unusual.
The new, to me!
I can't wait.

Boy, I am pooped.
That Barbara is a work horse, slave driver kinda gal.
No not really, we work good together.
We tried to re-vamp this spot in the shop yesterday.
It is in the front of the store.
We had visitors, vendors, customers and we had stuff all over the place.
But we muddle through.
And I think it looks good, completely different from the white and pint that was there.
And this is what it is all about, getting people to notice items but rearranging.
Today we are just going to clean up our mess, and maybe fluff up a place or two.
Have a good day!

Lola almost got a ticket yesterday.
I think she might be too much car for me.
She drives so good that she was doing 65 before I knew it.
And when i looked up, one of Cleveland's police was behind me.
He let me go and told me to slow down.
Thank You!
So on to more pleasant things.
Barbara and I will be re-decorating this morning.
We have a booth in the shop that needs help.
So we are there.
Look for photo's soon.

I have been meaning to post Grandson #2 T-Ball pic.
I cut everyone out but these two. (BBF)
Can you just see them in the outfield picking daises and grass, while their glove lays a few feet away.
Look at that cheesy grin, I love it.
Happy Wednesday!

DD brought home a new publication from the beach trip.

It is called "Bama Busted"

Wanted*Sex Offenders * Arrests

It is funny!

They are from Dekalb, Etowah and Marshall Counties.

I think all Counties should try it.

It cost DD .99 cents.

Worth every penny
This guy is posted on the Bama Busted web site.
Just for laughs, check it out.
Oh, and they are on facebook.

Do you hear it?
or
Did you hear it?
Rain, a beautiful sound.
I did not sleep well last night but this was before the rain came.
So when it did rain, I couldn't hold my eyes open.
But this morning there is no sun, just clouds, a beautiful day.
Enjoy it!

Today is Sunday and I am so glad.
I am the first one up, it is quite, cool and I have no tooth pain.
I started taking antibiotics.
I don't have to fight hubby or the grandsons for the computer and so I get to post early today.
Yesterday I had a couple of visitors at the shop.
One was my BBF Jeanette.
Our visits are rare and special since she moved.
We talked and talked and had a nice time.
Jeanette is having some eye problems, please say a special prayer for her.
She will be seeing a specialist next Friday.
We will be going to Mother's this afternoon to have a birthday dinner for my sister.
Her birthday will be on Wednesday.
She is a quite person and enjoys nothing more than a quite place to sit and read.
So the picture today is for you.
Happy Birthday!
Soon there will be the sizzle of bacon and children trying to hurry to get to church on time. And my happy ,cool ,quite , place will be gone.
But I ask you today to enjoy your Sunday.
Relax and enjoy.
You work hard all week, and today doesn't belong to us.
So enjoy!

Do you see what I see?
My Grandsons love these type of books.
All these goodies came from a Yard Sale on Friday.
It was alot of what I call Junkie Junk.
So enlarge this picture and see all of my treasures.
I also got a box of old material, lace and a wedding dress.
All for the great price of $30.00
Lucky me!
Have a good weekend!

I know... I know... I missed Thrifty Thursday again. But This is what I got at the auction on Sunday. A box full of this gold glass. I have a few customers that love it. So come on down and we will MAKE A DEAL! I will even have it packed for you since I haven't had the time to unpack it, so far. We have had a few busy days at the shop. Not complaining, just a fact. It took a while yesterday to clean up , what we messed up re- doing the room I posted yesterday. Oh and Bad Jerri. I forgot to Thank Barbara,
Barbara is a sweetie. She retreats to the shop when I need to be off, she is so talented and without her, the shop would not look the same. And Barbara, I sold a few things out of that booth yesterday after u left. So it is working.........

Back to the few items I got at Auction.
These picture frames are great. I like the two old ones. I had to drop them off at the shop, on Sunday so they wouldn't get left at my house.

I guess I have a egg or Chicken thing. I have bought a few related egg things lately. Remember the Mailing egg crates I bought at the Dixie Highway Sale? Have I ever told, that my parents had big raising hen Houses? And I worked them for several years, Oh the teen age years. I would ask to borrow the car to go to town...This sound really hick now....Mom would say, go borrow your Dad truck. I am not picky, I would rack out the Chicken SH*# and got to town. I got use to the smell.

Now, I have not taken alot of Pictures the last month and yesterday I did get a few of Toot. He is teething.
And chews on anything, even his own built in chew toy....his hands.
Well, thank god it is Friday. I am ready. I have cracked a tooth and have had alittle pain for the last two days. Dentist will not be in until Tuesday. Appointment at 10. Hope I don't drive my family crazy by then.
Enjoy your day, my friends.

Last night I went to Sip N Strokes with Jenn.
We had so much fun and believe me this was not easy.
I think I have tried every kind of creative outlet there is
and
Yes! I have painted before.
For several years, I painted. I didn't say I painted well. But I painted.
And I am here to tell you that you can lose what talent you have. Oh, well! I have a new picture to add to the closet gallery.
And below is the booth.

This is the booth Barbara and I worked on for 2 days. There is still a few things that will go in this morning.
Over the curtain door I have a few things to put up there. But I didn't have the strength to get up on a ladder one more time.
Please feel free to enlarge it and look at all the details.
We are so proud.
It is just to die for.
Do you know why we decorate booths in this unique way.
To get them noticed.
It is all about getting your attention.
Happy Thursday!

Yesterday was the day to destroy and conquer the back wall at the shop.
And I don't like the paneling but I do rent the building so I covered it up.
Yes, that is brown paper, packing paper and this was a job, by my self.
Boy, it is hot on a ladder.
This is where I got yesterday.
Now I am ready for the fun part, the decorating part.
Stay tuned for the results tomorrow.

I know, I have been lacking a little in my blog writing. So I am here to say I will have a entry each day for a week. That's right, I , Jerri will be posting each day for 7 days !
Today's post is a picture of a Antique Mall Booth, that I have fallen in love with.
I will re-create ( in Jerri's style) this booth at my shop, this week.
So there is a little tidbit of info I am sure you will be checking back for.
I also went to a auction on Sunday, almost 70 miles away and got a few things.
Pictures will follow this week too.
So here I go, on with the show.....Picture #1
I got this picture off this blog, if you are interested in checking out other picture.

Had my final Doctor's appointment yesterday. I really had worked my self up and thought this surgery was going to be worse than it was. Maybe it was the surgeon, she is a gentle woman. And I had very little pain, no bruising and now I have a smiley face scare on my right breast. But all is well and she said, just keep up with your mammograms and call me if you need me. Love it!
I cleaned house yesterday, having a 4th get to gather. But I did leave alittle early and get to the Paper works outlet downtown. I needed to get paper products for the Crop 2 Help event in September. When I get a idea, I have to run with it, right a way! I was disappointed. I have noticed inventory in shops are at a all time low, economy and all that. I don't get to go often, but something has changed. So I went on to Party City and found some great things. I drove out to Scrap Mania, I haven't been there since I taught a class in November of last year. I got to see Nonna, that was worth the trip. And I flipped the top down and drove home on some country roads. All and all, Lola and I had a great day. But back to work today. So I will be closed on Saturday to celebrate the 4th. So eat some BBQ, slurp down some home made ice cream, join in on the watermelon seed spitting contest, and finish off the day with fireworks, but have a safe celebration.
