As many of you know I am going to be a Nanny again. Our 3 grandchild is due to arrive in February. ( All of my grandchildren have been born in February) Today Dear Daughter went for a ultrasound and it's a....................another boy. I have been thinking pink bows, lace tutu's and tea parties but she is having another boy. Three Boys. Football games, sticky feet and laughing about bodily functions. Well, there will never be a dull moment with boys.

UPDATE- I FINISHED 20 PAGES...DO YOU BELIEVE IT! I WOULD SAY THIS WAS A PRODUCTIVE CROP.
Have you created a "Week in your Life" album yet? Well over at Ali Edwards blog she is in the middle of her week again. She taught this class at CKU and I took it last year. Loved the concept. You needed to keep a camera with you for 7 days. And take pictures of your day, she suggested 45 + each day. So you had enough to choose from. It was hard some days, cause I have such a boring life, no not boring. Maybe uneventful some days. So now I have over 150 pictures of our trip to Nashville CKU, And I thought I would scrap them the same way. And add them to the same album. So tonight I plan to attend a crop and this is what I am going to try and start. You know how those crops are, I tend to socialize more than work. Keep your finger crossed for me to complete a few pages anyway. Oh, and Happy Fall Friday Yall!

Got a few albums to show off. The 1st was made a few weekends ago, all about me. The front is a cheep dollar store picture frame. Coated with metal primer and painted. Really shabby chic. The second is a album India @ Scrapbook Mania ask me to create to show off at the shop. And again really shabby. So if you want to see the second one, come on by Mania.

Hubby is leaving tomorrow A.M to go to a fishing tournament. Four nights with no one pulling the cover over to his side, no one to cook for, fix lunches, watching any kind of sports, no ones dirty socks to pick up, next to the laundry hamper. No shoes left next by his chair, no hugs or bye kisses every morning. No snuggling at night, no back rubs, no one to watch the new shows with. I will miss you sweetie, good luck and be safe.

Do you know what this is?
You got it the Fair is in town.
Hubby and I went to the fair last night. And we had a good time. I try and keep him away from the games, he spends way to much $. But I am the one that now own 2 gold fish. Yes, you heard me Gold fish. Fred and Ethel are at home in my pond, enjoying there new home.
Terry refers to them as the $50.00 gold fish, not Fred and Ethel.
________________________________________________

Admission to the Fair $12.00 per $24.00
Basket of ball for goldfish toss 5.00
Push the quarter off the shelf game 5.00
raffle tickets for wedding ring quilt 5.00
Dinner @ Captian D's 15.00
Alone time with Hubby Priceless
And I know you saw the "Priceless" thing coming. But it is so seldom we get alone time. Well off to work, hey and it is Friday.

Had a little creative juices flowing today. It started out as a witches hat and my creative juices thought different. I also started a altered mini album that will be posted later, need a few items added and they are at the shop. When I work at home, I work with limited tools and supplies. I am at the shop more than I am home so it only made since to have a place to create there. Since the crop 2 help retreat, I have made 100 wedding invitations and worked on a album for hire. ( someone hired me to make a album) I am really conservative when it comes to someone else album, and try to tone down the creativity. But the mini album I put it all in there. I also started a mini album of grandson #2. But I just have the bones of it started. When I have creative burst, I can't complete fast enough. and then there is days when I stare at the paper and can't come up with a thing. Well, the dryer just buzzed so I am off to folds another load, and work on my mini albums.

Have a great Sunday yall.

Charity Crop-Ultra sound-Doctors Appointments- and Gummy Treats

How is that for a title?

~Well, I am coming off of a very exciting, fun and exhausting weekend. The Crop 2 Help Retreat that I host for the Shriners Hospital. There is 24 women in one house and we scrapbook, eat, laugh and sleep.

Seems I went to bed too early to see Jenny V sing her rendition of Tit Willow. And it also seems no one had a camera, I think that is too hard to believe. I bet there is black mail pictures that will surface, so Don't run for office Jenn.

Another success!

Thank you Ladies!

~Our DD is expecting again, with our third grandchild,

(keeping my fingers crossed that a little girl is growing inside of her very fertile tummy)

She was on the Depo shot for birth control but God had other plans. On Monday there was a ultra sound. I believe that it was more for a look see than a sex determination. Each of our grandchildren have February birthdays and so will this one.

So please say a little prayer for a happy healthy child.

~Seems we all had doctors appointment this week.

DD with the ultra sound, I had a appointment with a surgeon about a milk duct, and grandson #2 had a appointment with Rheumatology Doctor.

Not very productive at either appointment, they just want to keep an eye on the situation.

Which means we will have return visits in 3 to 6 months.

~Just for fun my BBF sends the boys a goody box, full of Gummy treats. Oh what fun to see them try and eat snot from a fake nose.

Who comes up with this stuff?

I am excited about the retreat this weekend. And have been humming this song all morning, from My Fair Lady. I just changed it a wee bit.
I'm gonna be scrappin in the morning!
Ding dong! The bells are gonna chime.
Pull out the cutter!
everyone will shutter!
But get me to the retreat on time!

Random Thoughts

Do you wave at the Krispy Kream delivery truck in your neighborhood?

Do you save trash to create with?

Do you hang on to tags from a new pair of jeans ?

Do you sneak a paper coaster into your bag when you are out for Dinner?

Do you dream, of creating, wake up, go to your creative space and work?

Do you look at the clearance isle, searching for your next project?

Do you pick up can tabs and other trash out of the parking lot to use in your creations?

Do you save broken jewelry to use in your art?

Have a wonderful and safe holiday.

Oh my goodness, I had a ball this weekend. Spent Friday night at Mania, scrapbooking. We had make and takes with these gals,http://www.memoriesacrossthemiles.blogspot.com/
We had a make and take with Cheryl http://www.cherylmezzetti.typepad.com/
And the classes was great. Cheryl was outstanding . Alot to create in one day but I am back in the swing and my creative juices are flowing, so look out. I have so many ideas and I am ready to create.
The best fun was seeing all my gal pals. It has been 7 months since I saw Bestest friend, Jeanette. And it was so good to see Barbara , Donna , Janet, India, Queen Nonna and Terri. And I met new scrappin buddies. Oh, what a weekend.
The fellowship with my scrappin buddies is what I needed, girl time.

We have been back to school only 9 days and grandson #1 missed the bus. So after ranting and raving for a few minutes I realize that I could take #2 to daycare early and have some alone time to do what ever I want. So I skipped to the car and loaded everyone into the car singing. Oh, get real, me skipping. But it was a nice break and all was happy. So here I sit with 2 hours on my hands to do with what I want. And I am dumb founded that I can't think of a thing to do. I know the sink is full of dishes and my bed needs to be made and I am going to a overnight crop this weekend and I need to come up with something to do, but I sit here on the computer. Oh, it is my party and I will cry if I want to. OR It is my alone time and only you know I am surfing the Internet. Lifting my virtual glass, Here's to being alone , a quite house, and no desire to empty that sink or make that bed. Okay snapping back to reality, I guess this is a post about nothing. So lifting that glass once more, here is to nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a Happy Tuesday.
And I promise that it is a virtual glass.....

We are back into the swing of things, school started last week. DD is working 7 on and 7 off right now, so I am only on school duty every 7 days. Getting to the school bus on time, trying to come up with something for grandson #1 to eat, He is a picky eater, did you brush your teeth, where is your back pack. Does everyone go through this? And all the while getting a 3 year ready for daycare and myself ready for work. It has been a busy week and I sat down with grandson #1 last night to ask how his day was. It was 8:30, I was cooking him noodles for supper, ( football practice was till 8, and he won't eat before, ) he was coloring a map of the united states. I asked him about school, his eyes lit up and he started telling me in the 5th grade you had more of a selection at lunch. And the chocolate milk was bigger and colder. He had 4 chocolate milks yesterday. FOUR! yeah, the lunch lady wouldn't let me have more than 2 so I got Josh to get me two more. And Sara got me 2 and I put them in my cooler for snack. That made SIX! So by this I know it was a good day! If you are ever down and need a pick me up, just have some chocolate milk, maybe you should stop with one though.

As promised, a few pictures of our "World's longest Yard Sale" Treasures.
The first picture is a Chinese sugar mold, I saw a pencil holder, they had candles in it. Look outside the box. Milk caps will be used for a Christmas project. Old Victorian album that is falling apart, well, it will used to create something. The old camping toaster is a candle holder. Old black and white wedding are one of my favorites. I am saving a few items until I get them set up and displayed. Stayed tuned.

Sunday, August 10, 2008

We are home from the "World's Longest Yard Sale". And I took my camera. Although I didn't get it out of the truck the whole time. I think I got one picture on Friday. I also took it to the shop on Saturday morning to snap pic of the treasures I purchased. And it is still there. So we are home all is well and I will post pictures next week.
Jenn and Jennifer will have to wait a day or two longer.

Gearing up for the "World's Longest Yard Sale" starting on Thursday. Hubby and I will attend a few days of hunting for the ultimate bargain, the most unique items and the hottest place on earth. I will complain about the prices, the heat, the unfriendly drivers, the lack of bathrooms, ( I won't use a rent a potty), the junk some people sets out in the yard to sale, and did I say the heat. Oh honey, it is as hot as fire at times, and you don't stay in the car long enough to cool off. But we love it. I was disappointed last year with the items I got to buy, they seem to get higher and higher each year. But I sold everything as soon as I got them out in the store. I try to find item that are unique to our area, something maybe you don't see too often. So wish me luck and I will have pic by Monday or so.

Have a great weekend.

It is that time of the summer. And now it is done. I canned all day yesterday, and my canning is done for the year. I put up vegetable soup, tomatoes, and salsa. Put peppers and peas in the freezer. Maybe a few more peas, but then I am done. And we can have veggies all winter long.
I had a lady in the store last week, tell me about a Squash Pattie recipe.
Gonna give it a try tonight. Here it is...
Steam your squash and drain, add one package of Mexican cornbread mix and one egg. Form patties and fry. Yes, fry! I live in the south and how do you think I keep up my curves. Loving it!

I enjoy watching the classics. A rainy weekend, movies and curled up on the sofa is a enjoyable time for me. But it doesn't happen that often. This would be a perfect line up. Although I have 2 of the 4 on video. Oh, and how can I forget 7 brides for 7 brothers. Now it would be a perfect movie weekend. What about yours. Tell us, leave a link to your blog and post your favorite movies.
