Thrifty Thursday
It is time for another episode of
"Thrifty Thursday"
Today we will dream of a day, a day a long long time ago, when Jerri had a guestroom.
A room that was always neat and tidy.
A room that was filled with grandmother memories.
Handkerchiefs and costume jewelry, so beautifully displayed on her dresser.
This cute little trinket dish empty, so guest could read the words.
Guest you are welcome here
Be at your ease
Get up when you are ready
Go to bed when you please
We are happy to share
such as we've got
The leaks in the roof
the soup in the pot
You don't have to thank us
Nor laugh at our jokes
Sit deep and come often
you're just one of the folks.
Yes, there was a time when there was a guestroom.
Filled to the rim with memories and "Thrifty Finds".
I keep adding to the items that will one day fill the room, until then
they are packed away.
Join us next week when a guest arrives and I have to show him the door.
I might be able to squeeze you in a closet somewhere.

That is the most precious little dish! I have never seen anything like it. What a sweet little sentiment for a guest room! I love that Jerri!

Thanks for playing along today in Thrifty Thursday at Bloggeritaville!

Oh wow, I have a hand-painted picture with that same poem. It was hanging up in my MIL's home for many years. I've never seen that poem before now. Well, now I know the art was original but the poem was not!

I think I just may have enough room for the "guest" that you are speaking of. I'll even offer pick up service!!! :) Just let me know when he arrives.

My guest room is full which means that Emily is sleeping on the couch :)

There was no room at the inn for Jesus and it didn't stop Him from coming so... welcome little guest!
