Hey, if you know your camera and you can make a old tractor tire look good, what do you think?

A week or so ago, hubby and I went on the (much cooler )Hwy 11 yard sale. This is what I found. I have a collection( just started) of butter pats. Do you remember them? Well, this one was perfect for me, old and yellowed, I love it. And the Pin cushions, hand made and used alot. Love em! I got the book because it is red, loved the spine....The green item is a clothes line, retractable clothes line. And then there is my collection of jars. Mostly peanut butter, but I just love each and everyone. And hubby thought i was buying for the store........

Do you have a favorite Quote or saying?
I watch church signs for unique quotes, I try to write them down when I see one I want to remember. I can never remember them, guess it has something to do with getting older. Lisa Bearson has asked for Quotes on her blog and I found one I like.
"No bird soars too high, if he soars with his own wings". William Blake
What is your favorite?
Post them to the comments, so we can all see them.
Can't wait to see them.

* FRIENDS *
Life changes, for a reason.
We move on.
We may change jobs and the work friends we have, we may not see day to day .
we may lose contact with
scrappin friends .
friends move and sometimes it seems to hard to stay in touch.
You don't want to bother a friend that is going thru something.
Just remember, time will heal, time will bring friends back, they are sometimes still close.
Closer than you think.

Hello friend,
good to hear from you.
I have missed you!
And thought of you often.

Mother,
Thank you for leading me along this path, the path that sometimes I did not follow. But now I realize you wanted the best for me. And I know I did not make it easy at times. I knew how to push those buttons. I am what I am because of your encouragement. Your strength, your spirit, your support, your courage, your persistent nature, your help your love.
And I want to say thank you!
I love you.

RECIPE #2
Ladies are always ready to pass along their favorite recipe. Today I was told to buy a angel food cake. and break it into large hunks. Place them in a Trifle bowl and set aside, cut up your berries and add sugar to taste, set aside. Now mix together one can of sweetened condensed milk and a block of cream cheese. pour this over the cake and then berries and cool whip. Let it set up for a hour or so before serving. ENJOY!!!
Stuffed Strawberries with Walnuts
Mix together, 3/4 cup whipped cream cheese,
2 tablespoons finely chopped walnuts,
1/2 teaspoon powered sugar ( to taste)
1/2 to 1 and 1 /2 teaspoon milk
place in a ziplock bag and cut the corner off.
This will allow you to pipe this mixture into the strawberries.
Cut a thin slice off the steam end of the berry allowing it to stand upright.
With the berry sitting on its stem end, with a knife gently scoop out pulp from the tip
end. creating a pocket to pipe the walnut cream mixture.
Yummy!!!

*****************Update****************
( must be read using your Jerry Reed Funny voice)
You should'a seen it, streaking through the pole bean, naked as a jay bird. I looked up and seen Ethel. I screamed " Don't look Ethel" bout that time I heard Ethel scream. And a bald cat ran across her feet.
Yes this reporter seen it, Mikia gotta hold some scissors and gave this here cat a trim. Pictures to follow, if'in this here cat will come to me so I can take a picture.
Sorry I had to spoof alittle on it ... The cat is not hurt, but he did have a little trim. We didn't even notice but I found hair on Makia and starting looking for a source. I have a pair of scissors I keep on my potting bench to trim flowers. And yes he gave the cat a trim. I also found a orange with a screw driver through it. Yesterday I found my salt and pepper shaker outside and dumped in a flower pot. Where am I when this is going on??? We have noticed he comes to you asking for hugs, and if we go right then, we find things he has done...
Stay tuned for updates.

Personality Check..... (Nanny pride)
Our little one has been developing a personality of his own , for awhile. But the last two days he has been at the farm with me for a couple of hours in the afternoon. I told him when a car pulls up, you should say hello and ask " would you like to pick berries today. But he waits until you open your door and he goes to the car before you get out and says hello, berry? jabber jabber jabber, I know he is asking if you need buckets or if you would like the berries we have already picked. Everyone pays alot of attention to him and he is in 2 year old heaven. The last few days he comes to me 25 times a day and wants a hug, and then as he has me all pulled into his cuteness, he slaps his brother. This is my wild one. God help us all.

Guess what they are doing? Maybe picking strawberries. It was a wonderful day for picking today, the weather was just right. I even had a jacket on this A.M. I know it will not last but it was nice today. I still love being outside but after 4 weeks of being at the strawberry patch I can say I need a vacation from being there. People don't seem to realize berries only last so long and the length of the season depends on the weather. Yes, I would say I need some time off. Maybe only a afternoon.
Read what Vicki had to say about the strawberries.........

Love the new look of your blog! It looks so fresh! Also the strawberries ROCK!! My son was like wow these are so sweet and they even feel different than strawberries from Wal-mart! It has been along time since he had berries straight out of the garden. Maybe back soon!!
We are now on the down side of the Strawberry Season, maybe only a week and a half or 2 weeks left.
Thanks Vicki, we are glad you enjoyed them......
