Show and tell Friday
It is that time again, so sit back and enjoy.
I LOVE buttons! I won't pass up a jar of buttons at a Estate sale or Auction. And it all started, when my aunt was downsizing and she gave me a jar of buttons. She said there was some in there from my grandmother. SO this started to obsession with buttons. I have jars full, separated in colors, of course. I don't have alot of mother of Pearl or diamond studded buttons. It is the ones that came off of a work shirt and there is still a piece of the shirt attached, that I like. Where the lady of the house has cut the buttons off the shirt before putting it in the rag basket. Grandson #2 is 3 and when he comes into my studio and wants to play, I open a jar of buttons and he can entertain his self for a few minutes anyway. And then he is off to find something else to get into.
I just love my buttons!
Button Button who's got the Buttons, that would be me......

I love buttons too. I have a few mason jars filled with buttons. I especially loved all you green buttons and your purple buttons. The colorful bowls made the pictures of the buttons so cute. Do you have them displayed in the bowls like that?

:::smiles::: I have a coffee can that my mother had when she was alive...filled to the brim with buttons. They just don't make 'em like that now.

Hope you can stop by and pay me a visit sometime soon. I'd love to have you!!!

So neat. I like the way you've got them sorted by color to display.

What a great collection! I love how you have them in the color groups! They look cute in the jars and in the dishes! I think I will be on the look out for buttons at garage sales and auctions!

Hey Jerri! Go back to Kelli's and find Mrs. JOJO on the Mr. Linky. she has a bird house made from seed packets that looks like something that you would do.

WOW! I never thought of collecting buttons until I started looking at S&T's - I like your collection. Isn't it funny how we all get started on collecting things. Thanks for sharing.

Blessings,

I have alot of buttons too!
For me I think of them as
"jewelry for clothes". My
favs are the pierced Mother
of Pearl buttons. I agree I
don't find alot of things
at thrift stores anymore
either!

Who doesn't love buttons. I used to play with my mom's buttons--she kept them in a cookie tin. I spent hours looking at them and imagining with them as a child.

Oooh! Pretty buttons! Makes me think of playing with Mom and MawMaw's button jars when I was a kid. I used to LOVE to separate them into color coordinated piles... never got to use the pretty vessels to keep them in though!

Hugs!

What gorgeous buttons! You should check out the blog Sugar Sugar. She hosted a button challenge & I'd say 25+ blogs participated.
