I got a surgery date yesterday.

I now know the date of the beginning of a new me.

I am so ready.

To start

To recreate a new me.

Please be happy for me.

I did not jump into this blind.

I have thought about this for over 2 years.

I prayed, watch others, researched and ask many questions.

I am nervous.

I have to admit.

It is life changing.

YES, I went Junkin today.

I don't like junkin this time of the year.

Our thrift stores clean out and start over.

So the shelves are empty.

I spent less than $5.00

But I did find this new Magazine.

I have been waiting for it.....

It is worth every penny.

I found this picture from a blog tonight and I instantly thought Summer.

We have had 3 days with temperatures around 50 or 60 degrees.

So we are thinking Spring.

This is the day I am going to try and do a better job in posting on this blog.

Home Pc is still sick and so I will not be able to download my own pictures.

As I posted last time, we are in Party mode at our house.

Our grandsons, ALL have birthdays in February.

SO we are having a carnival party for the two youngest.

It is all in the planning, this is my part.

In my head I see it in the back yard,

children running and skipping and having a great time.

Since we have had a wet winter, maybe we should host it in the driveway.

A more solid base, gravel, but getting muddy.

So we have a wrap around porch and we can put it there.

That is perfect, covered porch.

So as the weather man says it is going to be cold too, we have moved it to the basement.

We aint moving any more.

Or I hope

Well, we are having computer problems.
Laptops are working but Home PC won't go online,
so I can't download pictures.
It is such a bummer.
But we are in full blown party mode.
All the grandsons are having Birthday's in the next 2 weeks.
We are having a carnival for the two youngest
and the 12 year old wants a boy girl party.
Scary, right?
I will be taking pictures in hopes of getting them on line soon.

Only slept 6 hours last night, maybe I was just wore slap out, night before last.

Grandson #2 Last Basketball game today,

Finished quilt I was making DD yesterday.

Now I need to start on next quilt.

OH my goodness, I slept for 9 hours last night...

What is with that?

This sleeping thing is going to cut into my computer time in the morning,

I won't be able to look at all those blogs.

Ha

But I slept so much better last night, but I still have a sore place on my cheek,

I will get use to it and then on to better things.

I slept for the first night with this mask.

I feel like a freak, and I was afraid for Hubby's live to ask him how I looked, or look in a mirrow.

So I just imagined I looked like this...

These are mask for children to take breathing treatments.

Grandson #3 had to take one recently and he was so cute.

His was a frog.

So maybe if they want me to wear this mask, they could put a pink crown on it, or have colors, I would choose turquoise, with brown polka dots.

At least if I thought I looked good, it might make me feel better.

Sometime I get something in the store that makes me all giddy and excited.

I have a vendor that wants to bring a claw foot tub, I hope it will not let me down.

I think they are so interesting and I am so excited about decorating with it.

Stay tuned, cause we need the men to get together and bring it, so it may take awhile.

It doesn't take much to excite me.....sometimes.

I have a problem.

I love blogs.

I wake up and look at blogs.

I come home from work and look at blogs.

I love peeking into every one's home and seeing how they decorate,

plan a party, cook the ultimate meal for the family, complete a scrapbook in a day.

And a lot more.

Climbing onto my Soap Box Again.

I live in a small town, like the ones you like to stop in while traveling.

Our down town as gone through many changes over the years. The Business Association has worked really hard to preserve the old town feeling and to keep the Mom and Pop Stores open.

But Walmart has run most of the little shops out of business.

We no longer have a fabric store

We no longer have many dress shops

We no longer have shoe stores

We no longer have sporting good stores,

a pet stores, a bakery's or a T.V shop.

WHY!

The biggest reason is that Walmart has run these small stores out of town.

And now Today,

I heard Walmart is getting rid of the fabric department.

Okay, I am not a seam tress but many are ,and I have been known to purchase a few yards.

So once again Walmart has us by our &%$#'s

Not a smooth move.

If Sam was still alive, would he be happy.

He was a business man.

But he was a good, honest business man.

I have to think that the Sam I read about would be ashamed.

Busy weekend, need a break.

This is the year of change.

Answered Prayer

he came by the shop to warm himself.

On one of the coldest days we have

had in Alabama in a very long time.

I knew him and his wife had moved here after

their house fire to be close to a brother.

Both of them declining health and getting along in age.

It was hard, times are challenging for many.

Preparing for 4 long days of single digits

temperatures.

It was on every one's agenda for the day.

The regulator had gone out on the gas heat.

He had walked to the hardware store to see if he could get one.

No luck.

I had a electric heater in the shop, and gave him that.

I knew something else needed to be done.

I prayed, I read scripture.

I prayed more.

Hours had passed.

Nothing

I tell my grandsons that God

answers prayer, but in his time, not ours.

But I needed this to happen sooner than later.

This family needed this to happen sooner than later.

I need to pray harder.

I got down on my knees and prayed for God to

send me someone, to show me what

needed to be done.

I prayed and prayed.

And the door bell sang .

And in walked a godly man, a man I knew he had sent.

It has been a long time since I have asked for instant answers to my prayers.

I guess I just assume God hears and answers.

This family had heat with in a few hours and my faith has strengthened.

God does answer prayers.

Christmas 2009

Family means alot to me.

I am blessed to have my family with us.

I get to see them everyday.

I get to see it all.

The good,

the bad

and the ugly.

It isn't easy.

But we are family,

and that is what we do.

We help each other.

We bicker, we complain

but we love each other.

The shop has been sooooo slow.

So I can read

I can scrapbook

I can rearrange

I can create

I can watch a movie

I can do just about anything.

So what is the problem?

I AM BORED SILLY!

I need interaction,

I need companionship

I need to talk to a real live person.

So I am begging

Please come to my shop,

you don't have to buy anything,

although that would be nice.

But come to visit.

Come by to talk

and if you are a creative person, all the better.

Baby Steps
This is the year of "ME"
This is harder than I thought it would be.
We are half way into January and still nothing.
I was going to a scrapbook weekend, last weekend.
Until we had Alabama snow and ice.
The kind that closes roads.
CANCELED
So now it is time to take this year and make it mine.
Hummm, how do I do that.
