Flowers, just for you.
Don't you love to get flowers?
I do.
I don't care that they die and cost a arm and a leg.
I love flowers and I deserve them.
Just saying is all.
Thank you in advance.

It is time for bed.

Been really sleepy lately.

Getting 7 hours sleep.

What is going on?

By the Sea

By the Sea

By the beautiful Sea

I love all things nature

lately.

Seems I see beauty in not so beautiful things.

Like sea shells and wasp nest.

And I love to decorate with them.

Silver Lining 's
I kinda like the tarnished look of old silver.
Used and worn.
Kinda like I feel today.
HA HA
But the silver and white is a pretty sight.
Enjoy the picture today.
And enjoy the weather, it is beautiful outside.

Little Shop of White
Oh, the whole shop isn't white but I wish it was.
But the next few days will be pictures from the shop.
I love the look of the white decorations, just can't have it at home.
So I look and decorate at the shop in white.
And for the ones that know me, the wedding of my brother and new sister in law, went well.
It did rain alittle before the wedding and I put off the decorating of the tables until after we arrived back at the house. I just wanted to make sure it was all over. And so I just put everyone to work. It looked great.
Thanks for all the help, it was a wonderful night.

Inside looking out.

Put on your dancing shoes and join me in the kitchen. Hubby and I have kitchen danced for years. I will be just cooking away and hubby will walk up behind me and ask for a dance. By no means are we anything close to Fred and Ginger. He holds me close and I rest my head on his chest. That's about it. And then he is gone again, to watch his ball games. So as football starts this week, I am looking forward to some kitchen dancing. Bring it on Fred.

White September Day 2

As the air is turning cooler and the leaves are starting to fall, I am kinda sad.

Sad that the days of Summer have passed, no one has been in the pool for days, there is no towels hanging on the porch rail, wet swim trunks in the bathroom floor and no wet footprints from the door to the bathroom. But I do see the beauty of fall. Sitting on the porch swing with a hot cup of coffee, listening to the birds and watching the leaves fall. I enjoy the seasons, each one of them. They all have a beauty about them. Enjoy the season.

It is another year and another "White September". So why not start it off with this wonderful blog I just drool over. http://2chippys.blogspot.com/
This pic was taken from her site. Seems she made the slip cover for Cheryl at this blog...http://www.cherylscottagehome.blogspot.com/ Both have to die for rooms. I can never have a all white room. Not with 3 grandsons and a mechanic hubby. It just wouldn't work. So I decorate in white at the shop and add whit touches in the house, but up high. So the sticky hands of toot won't get to it. But he has started to climb, so we will see. HA.
Notice the coke sign on the wall, it is white too. Have a great Thursday.

One event down....
Sunday was Britney's baby shower. This was her third baby shower. This baby will never need any clothes. She has gotten anything she will need, and if she didn't she got alot of gift cards. It was raining cats and dogs, and 28 guest. Boy it was an adventure, to say the least. I am so glad I had finished the paper part of the shower on Thursday and sent it, by my sister in law , June.

The cupcakes was Italian cream, and yummy!
I was so busy, I didn't even get a picture of the Mommy . Or a picture of the beautiful mini album I made her. But since she is my niece in law, I think I will get a chance to take a few pictures later.
The baby, a girl, is due in October.

As you know, I love my jars. All kinds of jars. But the blue Mason Jars, are my fav. I use them for everything.
I use them for storage, my buttons, I use them for lights on a table, I use them as a vases, we drink out of them. There is nothing like a glass of tea in a mason jar. Look at them on this table, isn't it a pretty, simple table. Looks good! What do you use jars for?

Queen Anne's Lace........weed or beauty? I guess it's in the eye of the beholder, but I happen to think they are very beautiful . If you drive along the country roads in the spring you will see thousands of these beauties swaying in the wind. When hosting a party, I always seen to run out of $ when it comes to the flowers, but I would rather have Queen Anne's Lace than Roses. I have tried many times to move these into my yard, with no success. I have since given up transplanting them and I just enjoy them on the side of the road, and in buckets and vases. They seem to make a statement even though they are so simple. My mother always gathered them and let us choose the different color food coloring. And in the morning, we would have red centered Queen Anne's Lace.

Could you resist this Sweet Treat Table?

It was only 5 feet from my table.

Chocolate, Sweet, Sour, what a combo.

Yummy!

Sweet Treats

I love these colors.

And they tasted good too.

I over did this weekend.

I filled my little cup up several times at this table.

But I could not resist.

Yummy!

I love to re purpose items. I love to use it -till it is used up. My and your grandparents did it, used it till it couldn't be used anymore. I love to find old vintage items that are used and used until the wood is smooth and repaired over and over again. I don't know why this appeals to me but it does. So to find a kindred spirit or blog that re purpose's items, is right up my alley.
We all have or will have a entertainment center like this one. Seems the new flat screens are to be hung on the wall. I am still hanging on to my old TV and Cabinet until it won't work, I am just a cheep scape. Why buy a new TV, just cause they are NEW! I don't get it! See Cheep! So what to do with this piece of furniture we paid way to much for. Since I have boys, grandsons, I won't be doing this but I would love all your suggestions. I have noticed a lot of entertainment center at the thrift stores too. So come on yall re purpose your items, lets use them up.

I really love this idea and my daughter would have loved this to play with as a child.
Looks like fun, doesn't it!

Feeling alittle under the weather this week.

Drinking lemon and honey for a sore throat.

On day 5, and it aint getting better.

Went to the drug store and ask for her option, and it is not helping.

So tomorrow I will try and get an appointment with the doctor. I would stick it out but I am going to go play this weekend. Play with sticky folding paper stuff. I will be in Georgia with a bunch of the Alabama gang. Even though I am not up to my old self, I am still going to enjoy it!!!!

Blast from the Past!
(enlarge it and see if you can pick me out)
Could of, would of should of, it what I tell my hubby when we start to daydream out loud about our past.
That is just it, It is in the past.
Move on, live in the day!
But oh, how fat I thought I was back then.....
High school is beginning to be a blur for me. I have selective memory anyway. I remember what I want to remember.
Don't we all.
This was the good times, the days when the most you worried about was if you got a phone call from a boy. Now I hate to hear the house phone ring, cause it is a salesman. If you want me, call my cell phone, text me or send a e-mail.
Oh, how live has changed.
This picture was from 1978.
A long time ago.
I am in black, standing alone, between group one and two.
A fun post.
haha

It has been so hot the last few weeks that it is impossible to work in the yard. We do what we have to and hope we don't pass out. Seems we have a wedding reception coming up in only a month, in my back yard. My baby brother is getting married September 11. I so need to be in my yard trying to pull the weeds that has prospered since the 4th of July party. I have been working on the paper part of the wedding, in the cool inside. But now we are getting down to the nitty gritty. It is time to suck it up and get into that yard. So if anyone, I mean anyone needs a work out, come on over. I would appreciate the help. Seems we are the last minute type. Hoping and hoping for that genie in the jar to appear and look deep into my head and see what I have in store for the decorating, and poof it is done. I will be rubbing all the jars and bottles I find. I am praying for a cool weekend, sometime between now and 9-11. Have a good weekend my friends.

Another Worlds Longest Yard Sale in the books. Finished, completed, done!
And this morning as I sit here in my comfy chair, I miss it. I wish it was still going on. But alas, I will have to wait till next year for more.It was Hot the first day, until after lunch. Then there was alittle rain and it cooled off. But alittle rain didn't stop any of us. And the temp didn't hit 100 again. Low 90's was good. I could handle that. Drank lots of water and wore my yard sale hat.
This is a house in Ky, hard to tell, if it is a yard sale here or not. Ha Ha
It looks like there was and they just walked off and left it all. We saw many house like this one.

This is my freebie. On the last day there is sometimes a box full of freebies. I love it....

Now for a few peeks of my treasures.
I fell for the purse, I don't know why.

Paper goods. This was a must stop for me. I had kicked myself all year for not getting more last year. So when I found this man, he had almost run out of advertising items, but I got a few.

As I posted before, I have been buying Christmas items. Love em!
And there is alot more. There is a kitchen cabinet and a bookshelf. Oh, and a sofa table. I didn't get out any of the glass yet. So you will just have to come by and check it all out. We had a ball. Can't wait till next year.

It must be Christmas.

I have bought Christmas everyday of the Yard Sale.

We had a great day today.

Bought the most today.

But it is all packed in the truck and I will get pictures on next week.

It was hot today but not as bad as Thursday, before the rain.

Day 2 Worlds Longest Yard Sale

This is my find of the day. Green Oatmeal glasses. The lady said she was closing out a booth at a Antique mall and I got them for a steal. I can remember grandmother having these. And she got them out of a box of oatmeal. Memories is what it is all about. Some customers buy because of granny having them. Some come in and just look at the stuff granny had. Either way, come on in. I got other items but you will have to check back next week to see them.

My find for day 1!

And it is mine, all mine, just mine.

And no, it is not old, but looks like it. It is Avon. But I fell in love.

I have this thing about pins.

Got a few other things.

Some Christmas, old pictures, few buttons, gold bowls, kerosene glass jug, ice pack, and a few other goodies.

Heading out in just a few for the "World's Longest Yard Sale" .

The 127 Yard sale. Have alot of items I am looking for. Hope I find just a few things on my list. And a few goodies for me. haha

I will be updating from the road. Bye for now.

Yesterday we played Bingo
It was charity Bingo at the Elks Lodge.
In it's day I am sure that the lodge was beautiful.
But it has seen it's better days.
Bingo was hosted in
the "cloud room".

I knew I was playing with the big dogs when the lady I sitting next to had this bag with all her bottles of ink. It is a very fast paced game, with very serious people playing. So I was totally lost the first few games. In the corner, six pack, black out, diamond, big and little. All these ways to play. But I think I got it now. We didn't win. But it was fun. And I bet we will go again.

Last day of Christmas in July

This has been fun, so today I see snow. When I look at this picture anyway.HAHA But this would be a great entrance for any night event, not just Christmas. With 95 + degree for the last 27 days, I wish there was alittle snow to cool it down abit. Thank you for checking out the blog. Have a great weekend.

On my Soap Box!
Hubby is making Hotel reservations for the World's Longest Yard Sale . It is next week. And he is having to deal with price gouging in Crossville Tennessee. He went in to make reservation in two weeks and the price is about $60.00 but for this weekend it is up to $190.00. There has to be a law against this. We will travel 30 minutes away to not pay this amount. I can't believe it. Chattanooga prices are still good. So if you are traveling this sale, look out for the price gouging. It just makes me mad. I wish people would boycott these hotels. It would only be fair.

I love these paper-felt flowers. Can't you just see a bouquet of them. So this could be a gift for anytime, not just Christmas. So grab the scraps and get busy. You can use them until a friend needs a pick me up. And the good thing is they will never wilt or die.

Enjoy!

I fell in love with these little birdies. Look at the brush tails. I just got 2 but don't you know they are going to be front and center. Great Thrifty find.

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

Cause I am a Junker at heart, I had to show you this. I borrowed this picture from Sassytrash. So now I am on the hunt for lampshade frames. It looks like it would fit right in my shop. And the last few yard sales and estate sales I have been to, I have found beautiful shiny bright ornament's. And yesterday I found a treasure, so I will take my camera and show it off tomorrow.

I am counting down the day till the Worlds Longest Yard Sale. Only 9 days till the big show. We will close the shop from Wednesday thur Saturday. But I will be back open on Tuesday will a bunch new goodies, or I hope.

Happy Tuesday!

Oh, how simple and now the ideas start to flow. Make big cookies and just put one flat one inside, or perfect for a CD, or a gift card. Anything flat. Think about it........

Cute little take out box. I need to buy a few and play with them. Kinda like the Snowman. Could make a Santa with a red one too! Pumpkin with a orange , boy this could go on and on.
