Have you had the time to "NEST" this
Christmas Season?
I had a few hours yesterday,
in between church and play practice.
And I really enjoy it.
I watched a movie on Hallmark channel, covered a few branches with
sheet music, and I rearranged the buffet for Christmas.
A lovely day.

Had a great time at Jenni Bowlin
Vintage Christmas Sale.
Went on to the Gaylord for a
few photos.
June had never been on the inside.
It was really pretty.
Wish we had been able to see it at night.
Maybe next year.

If you have a old fan you won't be using for awhile,
just wire a wreath to it.
Makes it look festive.
Christmas parade tonight!
Bundle up and go enjoy it.
Cost nothing and it will
put you in the Christmas Spirit.
Enjoy!

Over at Chris's blog http://welovequilting.com/blog/ she ask this question.

Dinner party for 10
You can invite anyone that has ever existed.
So God would have to be there, he wouldn't have to speak.
Just being in his presence would make me speechless.
Abraham Lincoln, and Malik.( my grandson)
He reads all he can on dear oh Abe, so he would enjoy meeting him.
My paw paw, Matt Wells. cause I miss him, so much.
My mother, she is still alive but I am sure she would love to see her
daddy
after 30 years.
My husband, is my rock. So I would like for him to be there to keep me
from making a
fool of myself.
And since Terry will be there for me. I would have to invite his dad.
He died 18 years ago.
And Jessica, my daughter loved her paw paw, so she would have
to be there to get a hug.
So that is 8...I have 2 more...
This is really hard.
And I am going to ask that Michael, a class mate
join us.
I do miss him.
Sorry I lost touch, when I should have been there.
And I would invite
Jesus to answer all my questions.
And it wouldn't really matter what we had to eat,
cause I am sure no one would be eating.

This morning the light came through my bed room window and woke me up! The coffee was ready, hubby was laying next to me, the dishes were still in the sink, the creamer was in the refrigerator, my favorite coffee cup was in the cabinet, there is slippers by my bed, clean clothes in the closet, food in the pantry, sea shell from my beach trips in bowls all over the house, there is books on the night stand, Televisions to watch, a computer to surf my many blogs, and Christmas gift wrapped and ready to go under the tree. Many of these things are here everyday. Many of these things I take for granted. But I am so grateful for each and every person that is in my house, for each coffee cup in my cabinet, food to eat, clothes to wear, trips we take, everything we have. I hope you take a few minutes this week to thank God for everything you have. Because without him, we would have nothing.

Frosty had a black top hat but the Snowman today should have a little glitter. So here it is.....we made the tree star at the Jubilee Sunday. Just use the green bottle brush trees and but them in bleach and water. for just a few minutes...rinse and dry. Wha la ....white trees. Now just a lot of hot glue to get them into a star you like.....A lot of glue. And fan fold a few strips of paper and add a old Christmas ball or bead. and Yes. the hat is made from a Oatmeal box. So start eating...Oatmeal cookies, or add a little into the meatloaf... you will have a empty box in no time. Happy Monday!

It's a bottle tree! I have told you in a resent post that I bought 4 truck loads of bottles. Well I had to do something for Christmas with em. So here it is, it really looks better in person. Christmas is just around the corner and I am no where ready. I have bought a few gift, they are still in the trunk of my car and need to get em wrapped before Ky finds his race track. The Jubilee is over. Went easy this year, but I had 3 no shows. Questioning if it is really worth it any more. I will get you picture of what we made in a day or two. Have a good Monday.

They look like they are having alot of fun! This weekend is Silver Bella it is a Paper Arts & Mixed Media Event Omaha Nebraska . I dream to attend each year. I know they are having fun as I type. But I am home preparing for Jerri's Jingling Jubilee, which is my version of Silver Bella, kinda sorta, no not really.

We will complete 10 items for a whopping $30.00. Where else can you craft, fellowship and eat for $30.00. We will have so much fun. I believe this is our 4th year.

Any way it is Sunday and I only have 2 places left, so give me a call and I will set you a place at the table. Sunday at 2.

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

I have a whole file of things I want to do one day, items I want to create, or things that inspire me. Where this came from, I don't know. But it was in that file. And although I might put this on my car one day. I believe I could find my car in a parking lot filled with Christmas shoppers.

Today is the last Under Glass post.
These came out of Linda booth and I love em. Just the right amount of fluff to make them interesting. We have sold so many of these and I hope I have interested you into using that glass cake plate all year long. Drag it out, and put your grandmother change purse and glasses in it. Maybe a card she sent you or her favorite passage. It is all about remembering.
I am frantically planning for this weekend. It is time for Jerri's Jingling Jubilee. It is a annual crafting event I plan each year. You will create 10 different items for $30.00. It is alot of fun and great fellowship. Seems I have picked a bad weekend and still have places left. So if you are interested in joining me, just email.
Tomorrow or once day this week I will be starting Christmas in Dry Creek Post.
So stay Turned.

Friday, November 06, 2009

Welcome
Grouping by color is today's post.
The items have nothing in common except color. But don't they look nice together.

Tuesday, November 03, 2009

I pronounce you man and wife, be good to each other.
These are hurricane globes, and I filled them with what I thought a bride and groom needed on that day...and what I had in the shop at the time. I hope everyone had a nice, safe Halloween. I know we did.

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Isn't it something that it is not what you put under the glass, it all seems to look good together.

Monday, October 26, 2009

Happy Monday Everyone!
Hope your Weekend was Great!
These pictures are the beginning of a new blog post, called "Under Glass".
Barbara and I started noticing on blogs the unique items that are under glass. You know we don't do anything halfway. So we hunted and gathered all the cake plates, domes and cheese trays, we could find. Put anything and everything under glass. The next few days, maybe weeks, I will be posting things under glass. So get a cup of coffee and sit back and enjoy the pictures.
These two are the biggest glass dome and the smallest in the store. I love how, even the gold Christmas bead looks like it was meant to be under the little dome. Like a pearl from a oyster. So no matter what you put under these domes, it makes them look special. Because you took the time to arrange it just right. We all pick up at least one sea shell from the beach, display it under a dome or a glass and hold on to that relaxing time, spent at the beach. Set it on your night stand or in a special place so you will notice it daily.

A little bit more of Halloween.
I made this for a swap I was in, and it wouldn't fit in the box. So I got to keep it.

Toot was at the shop for awhile yesterday and I had my camera. We all wanted a girl, and it is getting so long. DD thinks it is bad luck to cut their hair before he is a year old.

One last Summer picture, I think Summer is gone for another year. I don't even want to go to the beach now. So we are planning a trip to the Mountains or Nashville to see the Rockettes.
The reason I had my camera at the shop is that I had another idea....... Through the first of the year I will be posting these pictures. First will be "under glass". For several months now Barbara and I have noticed on our many blog we look at, that there is a lot of things under glass. So we ran with it. Check back next Monday for the first pictures. It is a really good way to use that glass covered cake plate all year.

Last week, when they were getting ready for the Mardi Gras Party, I got out my face paint. I took a class alot of years ago. So be nice. I was going to join the clown unit of the Daughters of the Nile. I look this class and ask my mother in law to make a clown outfit and I now have no time. So I will pull out that clown outfit and try to make balloon animals at the church carnival. Wish me luck!

Monday, October 19, 2009

We had another busy week at our house.
My daughter planned and organized at Mardi Gras Party for a bunch of 13 year olds.
And it was a hit!
Cold but a Hit!
Wouldn't you know that the weather would change and turn cold.
But do you think the 40 + preteens, felt the cold?
No and it was a great time for all.
Happy Birthday Seana and Jarica
Now it is time to clean up. So enjoy the photos while we plan a Harvest Carnival at the church October 31st.

The candy Buffet was my idea and it was a hit too.
Who doesn't like candy?

Don't you love the huge mask made from a dryer box. She painted it and used Christmas garland, from the thrift store. All 9 -cost about $10.00.

Thursday, October 15, 2009

This is my little piece of Halloween. The top of this buffet if where the sea shells go in the summer, it's where the Easter chicks go in the spring. With so many people in our house it is hard to decorate for the seasons or holidays, so I have adopted this little spot to spook up.

Happy Halloween!

Good Morning !
Anyone who knows me, knows I love Halloween. I have given adult parties and children's parties, and decorated the porch to be a haunted house, but the one that was the most fun was the savager hunt.
This year, there is too much going on to throw a good party, so I will just decorate alittle.
These two items were made for a swap I joined.
A sweet and sinister swap.
Did I do it?
Does it look sinister?
I also threw in a gummy skeleton hand, for the sweet.
I had the worst time trying to find a big enough head, even had Jenn's husband Bill on the look out. But in the end I think it turned out okay.
So I hope you all are enjoying the cool fall weather. In Alabama we are wet. And rain all day today, again.
It is the perfect day to complete indoor projects.

Ladies,I am a little late in posting but I wanted to let you in on the reason I have been absent from the blogging world lately.

And it being Breast Cancer Awareness month, follows right along with it.

Only a month ago my mother in law, Carol, had a routine mammogram.

She had not felt a lump, she had not been sore, she was not feeling bad, but a lump was detected.

And further testing told us it was Cancer.

They wanted to take off her breast.

Carol had her surgery last Monday.

She came home on Friday, with 4 drain tubes.

Someone in the family has been with her since.

She is doing well, she will heal.

But it by the grace of God that it was time for her to have a mammogram.

Early detection is what has saved her life.

Please, have your mammograms.

Thursday, October 01, 2009

Well, White September came to a scheeing halt didn't it!
With the crop 2 Help and my mother in law having cancer surgery I had to put my little blog on the back burner.
And then , when I thought it was getting back to normal, I developed a kidney stone,
So just a few more days and then I will be back up and running.
Please Pray that I give birth to this nasty stone soon.
